WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS!!!!!!
We are so incredibly grateful for the support FDWAC continues to receive from our community. We have received grants from both the Montcalm Panhandle Community Fund and Lakeview Area Community Fund to help restore historic fencing at both locations. These grants will help us continue the work we love - preserving these cemeteries and the stories of those who came before us. Thank you!
Headstone Cleaning - Amble Cemetery
It was a great evening cleaning the headstones at Amble Cemetery. Many of our volunteers have family members buried at the cemetery, so it was wonderful to hear them sharing stories while working together. Thank you to everyone who gave their time and effort!!
Volunteers were able to set a monument for Civil War Veteran Danford Barton at Dickerson-Whitsell Cemetery. Barton had a temporary marker for almost 100 years, and we were happy to install a proper headstone for him. Thank you!!
